Talk to me, Newgrounds.

Posted by DM692 - February 3rd, 2014

When hanging out with friends, we're often busy doing shit so I don't get the time to have a real conversation about unrelated subjects.

Bring up something abstract, esoteric, personal, anything. I want to see what Newgrounds has going on up there.

just got done wacking it skeet skeet skeet

I've heard the term before but never knew what it meant, I just Googled "skeet skeet" and have expanded my vocabulary. Thank you!

Hello DM692 the ng community is always here for some random bull.

So today I slipped on a patch of ice but caught myself b4 I hit the ground
I was shaken but moved on
then I fell down the front steps
aren't I smart?

I actually made a post regarding intelligence and slipping on ice a couple weeks ago:

http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1358856#bbspost24945776_post_text

Nice job on catching yourself though, this apparently construes some level of dexterity, but unfamiliarity/unexpectedness of the ice. Do you live in a place that doesn't frequently ice over a lot, or did that patch just surprise you?

I think you would have mentioned any injuries you incurred, but in case you didn't, hope it's nothing serious!

no injuries, and living in ny im used to this type of weather I was just being careless like oh ya I didn't fall see how cool I am, guess I just got cocky and that's what I get

you're ok for a mealguy

My meal this morning was espresso x3 and a bowl of beans. My bowels are quaking.

despite the fact that you know i meant metal, you should know that wasn't a týpo, and meal is the word used by boards like /mu/ to poke fun at metal

THE MORE YOU KNOW

/mu/ is a huge circlejerk with everyone scoffing at your tastes
What, you dont listen to bjorks early underground scream comps?
Fuckin pleb.

I view circlejerks as just that, and something whose opinions I don't particularly need to take note of. What I've never really got, however, was how a whole board dedicated to music can't learn to get along and appreciate each other's music.

Ever heare of thesus's ship?
This is my father's axe. The head replaced twice and the handle once.
Stupid people talk about other people.
Smart people talk about things.
Really smart people talk about ideas.

By the way, the new beta is up!! I only announce new betas when they are significantly changed since the last time. Prepare to receive a generic email with the info.

Theseus' Ship* :), I did actually read about it in a book I semi-recently finished. Interesting idea, especially when you think about it on a molecular level and how matter all works when you eat/when you're rotting in the ground.

Looking forward to trying out the new beta, gonna load it up right after I'm done typing this out!

So, is this your "wall"? You seem pretty cool. Yeah that's not much of a conversation starter I guess.

My advice? Don't buy pirates. They're not a good investment as they're prone to mutiny.

Right right. See, you don't "buy" pirates. Instead you plunder their, uh, booty. That's what you do. Yep. Yep.

Sometimes you gotta plug the bunghole.

Liberian, Cannibal warlords fighting each other through factions of child soldiers for control of the country.

Discuss.

It doesn't directly affect me so I have no real positive/negative opinion on the matter, but I will say I respect them. Every atomic reaction for trillions of years has geared every molecule on the planet towards survival of the fittest, and in a nutshell, that's my worldview.

If you've amassed the political power to raise an informal guerrilla army capable of viably fighting for territorial control through contained fascism, all the more power to you. I can't say I'm happy that the people they're killing are being exterminated, but I will say that if that wasn't what the universe wanted to do to improve itself it wouldn't be happening.

I wonder what the (honest) age demographic of Newgrounds would reveal. The website has few advertisers currently, but still comes up within the first page of Google search when a game is typed into the search bar. But besides my digressing, remember to spray your candle holder with nonstick cooking spray to pull it out easier.

Ever watch Death Note? I was tracing how L deduces the parameters around the Kira case and came across an essay someone wrote, mathematically observing the different levels of significance in Light's reasoning as he continues to kill "criminals" for his wishful obsession. If you haven't, I suggest watching it. It'll keep the boredom away for a while, and whomever wrote the essay wrote others also relating to the show.

Also, you look similar to someone I attended high school with, and you page is pretty alright. Keep on.

I'd imagine that there's probably quite the disparity between the age of active posters/contributers and people who come here for exclusively games and movies.

Never watched Death Note before, no particular reason though. I just finished Claymore (which was alright, 6.5/10 imo) so I may look into it, though. My two favorite animes have been Elfen Lied and Baki the Grappler (the former by a fair margin), but I don't know whether that says anything about how much I'll like Death Note.

Probably. I only came for the games at first, before I figured out how to make an account, but that was a while ago.

If you like Phillip K. Dick or Science Fiction in general, I recommend watching Psycho-Pass. It's only through its first season, the second is to begin in October, but it is loosely based on Minority Report and life in a dystopian society. Elfen Lied seems like it has a lot of potential to be a more memorable anime, but I only watched the first few episodes so far. Haven't seen Claymore or Baki the Grappler.

you are the best NG user I've witnessed all year

If you're serious, thank you very much! I try to put thought into what I post.
